“There are many different types of current policies to support SMEs such as the method of helping all elements of corporate management from finance to manpower, technology and marketing channels but the effects are very vague. The new government needs to shift policy directions in a way that reduces individual SMEs support and focuses on ecosystem formation.”
President Kim, Seung Il (Age 63 / Shown in Picture) of Pi-Touch Institute stated, “The new government has been strengthening the organization related to SMEs by establishing the Ministry of SMEs and Startups but the existing support system still faces limitations on increasing the competitiveness of SMEs.”
President Kim has a doctoral degree in business administration from Seoul National University and is widely accepted as an expert on issues regarding SMEs and middle-standing enterprises with his career background as a senior research fellow of Korea Small Business Institute and as a director of High-potential Enterprises Research Institute (2015~2016). He also had worked as a teacher (social studies) at Seoul Girls’ Commercial High School and as a president (acting manager) at Kanglim Co. Ltd. In September of last year, Director Kim became the first director of Pi-Touch Institute, which has been established to 'contribute to the sound growth of Korean companies and the continued development of the Korean economy’, and has recently published the first issue paper, 'New Direction for SMEs Policies’.
