It has been expected that the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution would result in the disappearing of 1.2 million jobs in Korea in 20 years.
Director La, Jung Joo and Research Fellow Kim, Kang Hyun of Pi-Touch Institute have clarified such in their study titled, 'Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Jobs : Focusing on a New Analysis Model’, and earnestly urged the government to establish solutions for the job situation.
Director La foresaw that the number of jobs would decrease by 1,244,217 in next 20 years due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The number of routine workers such as parts assembler and non-routine manual workers such as restaurant employees would decrease by 589,390 persons and 989,646 persons, respectively, whereas the number of non-routine cognitive workers, such as software designers, would increase by 334,820 persons.
